Frank Barnhart Dies Near Liberal

John Franklin Barnhart, 69, was discovered dead Monday in his car near Liberal by passing motorists. He apparently died of a heart attack.

Born December 4, 1892, at Chicora, Penn., he had lived in the Protection community since 1936. He was a retired recreation parlor operator. A World War I veteran, he was a member of the Protection American Legion post and a member of the Kiefer, Okla., Masonic Lodge.

Among survivors are his widow, Palvena, Protection; a son, Gary, Glenrock, Wyo.; and three sisters.

Funeral services were held Wednesday at the Protection Methodist church with Rev. Hobart Young officiating. Burial was in the Protection Cemetery.
