Mary (Williams) Beard

OBITUARY

Mary Williams was born near Greensburg, Decatur County, Illinois, October 1, 1840. At the age of 18 she was united in marriage to Mr. Evan L. Beard. To this union was born thirteen children, seven girls and six boys. Her husband preceded her in death in 1910, also four children, Janie and Katie, at infancy, Mrs. Stella Firestone in 1911, and Mrs. Anna Figg in 1923.

The surviving are: Wm. Beard, Bartlesville, Okla.; Dora Thomson, Montebello, Calif.; E. F. Beard, Lawrence, Kan.; Sam Beard, Mound Valley, Kan.; Mrs. S. E. Cline, Buffalo, Okla.; Mrs. A. C. Cline, Buffalo, Okla.; O. D. Beard, Selman, Okla.; O. C. Beard, Bartlesville, Okla.; Mrs. M. F. Jordan, Wilmore, Kan,; 46 grandchildren, 54 great grandchildren, 1 great, great, grandchild.

She was converted in early life and has always lived a true Christian. She often talked with her children that she was willing and ready to go when the Lord called. She was a member of the M. E. church of Buffalo, where she made her home with her daughter, Mrs. A. C. Cline. She was always a devoted wife and mother to her husband and family.

She departed this life Friday morning, August 26, at the age of 86 years, 10 months and 25 days, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. M. E. Jordan of Wilmore, Kansas.

Her time came without warning and without struggle, just as a peaceful sunset a perfect day. Funeral services were conducted from the Jordan home Thursday morning, Rev. Large being in charge of the services. Interment was made in the Buffalo, Okla., cemetery.
