Obituary

Ralph Hudson Beeley, the son of George E. and Anna Lois Beeley, was born September 4, 1893 near Coldwater, Kans., and succumbed with a heart attack after 14 hours in the Comanche County Hospital on March 10, 1977 at the age of 83 years and 6 months. His entire life was spent at Coldwater except for the years he attended Phillips University in Enid, Okla.

On September 26th, 1915 he was united in marriage with Bessie Ellen Reed at Enid, Okla. To this union two children were born. He was a member of the Christian church and reaffirmed his faith to Pastor Gib Clark on the last day of his illness.

Surviving him are his wife, Bessie, and two children, Newell of Wilmore and Virginia Carthrae of Coldwater; four grandchildren: Ralph Carthrae of Houston, Texas, Rick Beeley, Coldwater, Betty Doherty and Peggy Beeley of Murfresboro, Tenn., and eight great grandchildren.

Our dad transmitted to us a sound heritage on his own side, and gave us a wonderful mother.

TRUE GREATNESS

A man is as great as the dreams he dreams,
As great as the love he bears;
As great as the values he redeems,
And the happiness he shares.
A man is as great as the thoughts he thinks,
As the worth he has attained;
As the fountains at which his spirit drinks
And the insight he has gained.
A man is as great as the truth he speaks,
As great as the help he gives,
As great as the destiny he seeks,
As great as the life he lives.
