"This photograph was taken by Jim Knox while I was preparing to make a plaster mold of my portrait bust of Phil Benziger, circa 1972, in the studio of the Knox-Campbell Gallery, Tucson, Arizona. The "halo" on the bust is from copper shims inserted in the clay to form an edge of the mold. The temporary clay form beneath the bust is to form the base edge of the mold." -- Jerry Ferrin
