The Wilmore News, August 24, 1928.

Richard Duane Bigbee

RAY BIGBEE CHILD DIES

One morning there was a strange commotion in Heaven. A little angel with the big brown eyes and the softest of white wings asked St. Peter to let him out of the pearly gates. The good saint hesitated - he was loath to lose so sweet a creature, but when the little angel told him he would come back sometime, the gate opened a trifle and the treasure crept out. Of course he came right down to earth and peering anxiously around he chose the home of Mr. and Mrs. E. Bigbee on June 24th, 1928. Here he was loved and tenderly cared for but little Richard Duane found this world full of pain and suffering for him. He was only here two months when God called him back to live with the angels again. He passed from this life on August 19th, 1928 at Wesley hospital, Wichita, Kansas, where every thing in human power had been done to keep him with his loving parents, grandparents and relatives.

There is no death, An Angel form
Walks o'er the earth with silent tread;
He bears our best loved things away;
And we then call them "dead."
He leaves our hearts all desolate,
He plucks our fairest, sweetest flowers;
Transplanted into bliss, they now adorn immortal bowers.
