Funeral services were held for Mrs. Zola Ruth Bilyeu at the Hatfield Funeral Home in Coldwater on Wednesday, August 9, 1967 at 2 p.m. Rev. Luster Young minister of the Assembly of God officiated, assisted by Rev. Bernard E. Plumb, minster of the Christian church.Mrs. Hazel McMurray was the organist and Mrs. Barbara McGinnis and Mrs. Mary Anna Purcell sang "At the End of the Road" and "He the Pearly Gates, Will Open."
Pallbearers were Leroy McGinnis, Roy Purcell, Bennie Bain, Victor White, Vernie White and Cecil Wilson.
Interment was in the Highland Cemetery in Ashland, Kans.
Obituary. Zola Ruth Keck Bilyeu was born February 11, 1911 at Mocane, Okla., to Noah Jerome and Cora Elsie Keck. She grew up and lived much of her life in and around Alva, Okla. She departed this life at Coldwater, Kans., August 7, 1967 at the age of 56 years, 5 months and 27 days.
Preceding her in death was a brother, Merline Joseph Keck Gehringer, adopted because of the death of the father and mother. Merline was killed while serving in the Navy in the Solomon Islands in 1942.
On December 7, 1964, she was united in marriage to Estol Bilyeu at Coldwater, Kansas.
Those remaining to mourn her passing include her husband of the home, a sister, Dorothy May Lust, Hollister, Calif.; a brother, Murray Keck Gehringer, Kingfisher, Okla.; other relatives and friends.
