Mrs. Glenn Bliss of this city passed away in St. Anthony's hospital in Dodge City last Saturday after an illness of about a week.She became ill the previous weekend and on Tuesday was taken to the hospital in an ambulance. But complications arose and medical science was to no avail.
Funeral services were held in the Coldwater Christian church at 2:30 p.m. Monday afternoon and were in charge of Fred K. Southworth of Hutchinson, a representative of the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society.
Mrs. M. E. Haun and Mrs. Jess Hill sang "Asleep in Jesus" and "I Love Thy Kingdom, Lord," accompanied by Mrs. Jessie Robertson. Burial was in Crown Hill cemetery. The pall bearers were Raymond Knabe, Ray Squire, Darrel Smith, Nobel Friend, Bill Nuekirch and Lester Davis.
Obituary. Virginia Mary Annett, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Tony Annett of Enid, Okla., was born at Alva, Okla., October 23, 1920, and passed away in Dodge City, Kansas, May 10, 1947, at the age of 26 years, 6 months and 17 days.
She attended the rural schools near Lookout, Okla., and on April 7, 1937, was united in marriage in Ashland, Kansas, with Glenn Bliss. To this union five children were born - Shirley Joyce 9; Glenn Jr., 7; Robert Ray, 6; Sharon Kay, 5 and Wilbur Lee, 4.
Besides the children and husband, Mrs. Bliss is survived by her parents, Mrs. and Mrs. Tony Annett of Enid, Okla., four sisters - Mrs. Pauline Mills of Coldwater and Eva, Marcella and Ruth of the home, and by four brothers - Paul Annett of Wichita, Frank and Gene Annett of Freedom, Okla., and George of the home.
Mrs. Bliss was a a faithful and loving wife and mother and had many friends who join in extending to the loved ones their sympathy following the untimely death of the young mother.
