John E. Botts Dies Enroute to Hospital

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, March 21, 1962, at 10:00 a.m. at the Hatfield Funeral Home in Coldwater for John B. Botts, who passed away on Monday, March 19, 1962.

Rev. Dean W. Dryden officiated at the services. Mrs. Hazel McMurray, organist, accompanied Mrs. Ross Beeley who sang "In the Garden" and "Ivory Palaces."

Pallbearers were Walter Thompson, Herlie Gard, Cecil Wilson, Vernon Pepperd, Paul Kropf and Otha Landes.

Interment was in Crown Hill Cemetery, Coldwater, Kansas.

Obituary.

John R. Botts was born September 23, 1880, near Fallsburg, Licking county, Ohio. He came to Comanche county with his parents, Isaac and Minerva Botts, 10 days before he was four years old. He was graduated from Coldwater high school, taught school several years in the country and at Protection. He carried the mail, worked for his sister, Nellie Botts, in the abstract business and office of Register of Deeds. Prior to his sickness, which began in April, 1957, he worked in the law office of his brother, Jay, for more than 20 years.

Since April, 1957, he has had a lingering sickness to his death on March 19, 1962, in the ambulance on the way from the Siesta Home at Haviland to Coldwater.

He is survived by his brother, Jay, his sister, Myrtle, and his nieces, Ruth and Mary Botts.
