The Western Star, August 24, 1923.

Harve Bratcher.

Harve Bratcher died at 11 o'clock on Monday of this week at his home one mile south of Protection after a lingering illness, and was buried in the Protection cemetery on Wednesday. Mr. Bratcher was one of the early settlers and well known citizens of this part of the state, having come to the county in the year 1884. He devoted his attention to farming, making his home near Protection. He was regarded by all as an upright and honorable citizen, a good neighbor and a true friend. At the time of his death his age was not far from 70 years. He is survived by one son and two daughters. One son, Warren, and one daughter, Mrs. Charley McLaughlin, preceded him in death.
