Miss Lois Carter, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Carter of Coldwater, died Tuesday morning in the St. Francis hospital in Wichita. Lois had suffered from an attack of pneumonia and other complications and had been confined to her bed for several days before she was taken to the hospital last Sunday afternoon. A form of spinal trouble developed which caused her death.The Carter family lived on a farm south of Wilmore for several years, before moving to Coldwater about a year ago.
Lois grew to womanhood in this community, where she had a host of friends, who mourn her untimely death.
She was graduated from Wilmore High School with the class of 1936 and was quite talented as a reader.

She had a most pleasing personality and always had a smile for every one which won for her many friends. After finishing her school work, she had remained in her home assisting her mother with the duties of the home.
A place has been left vacant in the home which can never be filled and Lois will be greatly missed by all her associates.
The body was brought to Coldwater Wednesday evening but as this goes to press definite arrangements for the funeral have not been made. The sympathy of the entire community goes out to the bereaved family.

God who touches earth with beauty,
Make me lovely too;
With Thy Spirit recreate me.
Make my heart anew.
Like the streams of running water,
Make me crystal pure;
Like the rocks of towering grandeur,
Make me strong and sure.God who touches earth with beauty,
Make me lovely too;
Keep me ever by Thy Spirit
Pure and strong and true.
