Overton Alexander Carter

OBITUARY

Overton Alexander Carter was born in Albany, Missouri, January 15, 1857, and departed this life at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Ed Bolejack, at Sun City, Kansas, on October 19, 1937, at the age of 80 years, 10 months and 4 days.

He was united in marriage to Sarah Elizabeth McBride on November 6, 1884. To this union 8 children were born. His wife and 2 children having preceded him in death.

He was a loving husband and father and had lived a consistent christian life to the end. He was a former resident of Wilmore, Kansas, but has lived at Sun City for the past 14 years.

He leaves to mourn his death three brothers; J. E. Carter of Curtis, Okla., T. M. Carter of Quinlan, Okla., W. H. Carter of Sun City, Kans.

Six children, all of whom were here to pay their last respects are: Matt Carter of Wellington, Kans., Minnie Roberts of Garden City Kans., Cora Ward of Wilmore, Kans., Logan Carter of LaJunta, Colo., Ella Bolejack of Sun City, Kans., Mabel Trotter of Lake City, Kans.

Twenty-four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

A loving one from us is gone,
A voice we loved is stilled;
A place is vacant in our home
That never can be filled.


Burial of O.A. Carter

Overton Alexander Carter is buried in the Sunnyside Cemetery, Sun City, Kansas.
