The Western Star, October 5, 1923.

DEATH OF LYLE CARTHRAE

Lyle Francis Carthrae, aged 4 years, 10 months and 21 days, and son of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Carthrae, died early Monday morning, October 1, 1923, at the home of Mrs. Carthrae's parents. Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Hucklebridge, in this city. Nearly five weeks ago he was taken sick with what appeared to be some form of bowel trouble, and not long afterward typhoid developed, and now from that time he continued to grow weaker and weaker. He suffered intensely, but was patient through all his sickness. All that could be suggested by medical skill and the love of parents and friends was done, yet his life gradually ebbed away. Lyle was a dutiful and lovable child, and his passing away leaves to the hearts of many an inexpressible pang of sorrow. To the bereaved parents, the heartfelt sympathy of all goes out at this time.

Funeral services were conducted from the Presbyterian church on Wednesday afternoon and were in charge of the pastor, Rev. A. Frank Johnson Jr. Burial was in Crown Hill cemetery.
