The following account of the death of Mrs. Chas. Chapman, on June 6, is clipped from a Las Vegas, New Mexico paper. Mr. Chapman lived in this city for a number of years. He is a brother of H. W. Chapman. Charley and his wife had lived either in Colorado, Oklahoma or New Mexico most of the time during the past 25 years. Mrs. Chapman's former home was in Trinidad, Colo. The obituary notice follows:Mrs. Minnie Anna Chapman, wife of Charles Chapman, proprietor of the El Dorado hotel, died last night at St. Anthony's sanitarium from pneumonia. Mrs. Chapman had been sick for several weeks but she had been recovering and was thought to be out of danger when she suffered a relapse which caused her death. Mrs. Chapman was born in St. Joseph, Mo., July 16, 1867.
Since coming to Las Vegas several years ago, Mrs. Chapman has made many friends who are greatly grieved over her death. She is survived by her husband and a sister, Mrs. Edgar G. Maxwell, who resides at 822 Fifth street. Both were at the bedside when the end came.
The body was taken to Trinidad this afternoon for burial.
