The Wilmore News, October 17, 1930.

Infant Son Dies

The infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Childers of Fowler, Kansas, died a few hours following birth at the Dodge City hospital, Friday, October 3.

Saturday, October 4, the remains were brought to Protection and after a short service at the local Christian church, conducted by Elder J. H. Lynch, pastor of the local congregation, the body was laid to rest in the family plot in the Protection cemetery.

Mrs. Childers will be better remembered by many Protection people as Miss Myrtle Martin, second daughter of Elder and Mrs. G. M. Martin, now of Wilmore. But for several years Elder Martin was pastor of the local Church of Christ.

Mrs. Childers is in a very critical condition in the Dodge City hospital. - The Protection Post.
