Mrs. J. H. Clare, who was well known in this city, died about three weeks ago at her home in Guthrie, Oklahoma. While living in this city she underwent an operation for a hernia, and as a result of that operation, one of her limbs became infected and continued to giver her much trouble. Not long since the leg was amputated, and her death followed a few weeks later. Mrs. Clare's many friends here will greatly regret to learn of her death. She was a woman of rare culture, and possessed many of the finest womanly qualities. She had long been an active member of the Presbyterian church and her influence and her talent in music and as a teacher were freely given toward helping in every line of church, Sunday school and social work. Her memory will long be cherished by a host of friends wherever she has lived.
