Walter Loring "Tommy" Cobb

DIED.
Walter Loren (sic) Cobb (commonly known as Tommy), whose serious sickness was noted in these columns last week, died at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Cobb, 10 miles north of Coldwater at about 4 o'clock p.m. on last Friday. Death was the result of a very weakened condition of the heart action, brought on by an attack of rheumatism which had been lingering for nearly a year. The best medical treatment in the West had been sought and tested, but to no avail. About 24 hours before his death deceased had returned with his father from a health-seeking trip to the larger cities, including Nevada and Kansas City, Mo. Death came suddenly and apparently without pain. Consciousness was retained to the last.
Deceased was a young man of much promise. He was industrious and obedient, faithful and honorable. All who knew him join in paying him the tribute. "Tommy was a good boy." His age was 17 years, 4 months and 6 days.
Funeral services were conducted at the family home on Sunday afternoon by Rev. E. A. Powell of the U. B. church, after which the remains were taken to Greensburg for interment. The bereaved family have the sympathy of all in this their hour of sad affliction.
John Cobb and his daughter, Miss Nellie, of Mulvane attended the funeral of Tommy Cobb on last Sunday, John is a brother of W. R. Cobb.
According to family records, his middle name was "Loring", not "Loren".
