A bus tour to Dallas to attend Quilt Celebration 2004, a huge quilt show at Market Center - is currently being planned by Come Home to Coldwater quilters.

About this time last year planning was begun on a quilt to be given away during the Come Home to Coldwater Celebration. With about 12 quilters working in pairs on 6 panels, the town of Coldwater was depicted. A picture of the quilt is shown above. The quilt was won by Sharon Martinez of Dallas who is a member of the Dallas Quilt Guild. She is entering the quilt in several shows this year, including this one in Dallas.

Members decided it would be fun to go see the quilt displayed, along with hundreds of others, at a major quilt show and meet Sharon.

Reserve March 16-20, 2004, on your calendar to join us on this tour. Many other sights and events will be included in the tour, including a live theater, the Dallas World Aquarium, the Dallas Museum of Art, the Dallas Arboretum & Botannical Gardens which will be featuring their tulips & azaleas, a guided tour of downtown Dallas including sculptures, architecture, Neiman-Marcus, and the John F. Kennedy Memorial. Well also do a bus tour of some of the beautiful housing neighborhoods in Dallas. There will be time for shopping and, of course, sampling local cuisine. A full day will be dedicated to the quilt show.

The detailed itinerary will soon be available, but reservations must be made as soon as possible - preferably by Feb. 1. Cost of the 5 day - 4 night trip is $350, based on 50 persons. A down payment of $150 to Clara Louthan or Linda Lytle will reserve your place on the tour. For more info. call Clara at 620-582-2850, or email Phyllis Scherich at lpsch@havilandtelco.com.
