Margie Maxey was born in Tompkinsville, Ky. May 29, 1854, and passed away quickly and peacefully at her home in Wilmore, Kansas, Friday evening, July 8, 1937, at the age of 83 years, 1 month and 10 days.She grew to womanhood in Kentucky and on April 20, 1875 was united in marriage to J. C. Eubank of Glasgow in that state. To this union two children were born: Mr. Kent Eubank of Wichita and Mrs. Joe Booth of Wilmore. The husband passed away November 15, 1883.
Thirty-four years ago she came to the state of Kansas and was married to W. T. Combs of Coldwater on June 17, 1906. Mr. Combs died in 1909. The following year Mrs. Combs came to Wilmore where she has resided till the time of her death.
Besides the son and daughter, six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren survive; also two brothers, Sam Maxey of Franklin, Ky., and J. G. Maxey of Lamar, Colo., and one sister, Mrs. Anne Wade of Wichita.
Mrs. Combs became a Christian when she was 13 years of age and united with the Baptist Church in Kentucky and placed her membership with the church during the pastorale of Rev. I. W. Bailey soon after coming to Wilmore 27 years ago.
Two things were of first importance to her: the church and her home. She was a faithful attendant at the Sunday school and church services in spite of her advanced years and was in her regular place of worship last Sunday. She was devoted to her home and enjoyed her friends and neighbors. Many will be the pleasant memories and associations which she leaves behind. May her reward in Heaven be rich and full!
Funeral services were conducted at the Wilmore Baptist Church Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock by her former pastor, Rev. J. P. Woods of Sun City, assisted by the present pastor. Burial was in the Wilmore cemetery.

M. Elwell and Walt Elwell of Topeka, Mr. and Mrs. John Eubank, Leona Wolfe, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Eubank, Mr. and Mrs. Mal Eubank, Mrs. Ethel Eubank, Mr. and Mrs. Ira Carter, all of Pratt, Mrs. G. F. Eubank, Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Eubank, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Eads, Mr. and Mrs. Durall, and Mr. and Mrs. George Metzger, all of Coats, Mr. and Mrs. George Eubank of Protection, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Oller and Elsie of Coldwater.
CARD OF THANKS To the many friends of Wilmore and community who faithfully extended us aid and sympathy in our greatest sorrow, the death of our beloved mother, Mrs. Margie Combs, we extend our heartfelt thanks and appreciation.
