Mrs. Annie Cooper, well known Coldwater woman passed away at 7:05 a.m. on last Saturday, in Bentley, Kans., the result of a sudden heart attack. She had made her home most of the time since last November with her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Harbaugh Beeley, in Bentley and the evening before her death had enjoyed the fireworks with the children and their parents. When she arose the following morning she felt better than usual and was washing her teeth when she passed away without warning.Funeral services were held in the Coldwater Christian church at 2:30 o'clock Monday afternoon and were in charge of Lloyd R. Sparks of Carmen, Okla., a former pastor here. Mrs. Jess Hill and Mrs. Merle Haun sang "Rock of Ages" and "Going Down the Valley One by One," accompanied on the piano by Mrs. Jessie Robertson. There were many floral offerings, testimony to the high esteem in which Mrs. Cooper was held by all who knew her. One of her favorite poems, "Crossing the Bar," was read at the funeral.
Burial was in Crown Hill cemetery by the side of her husband. The pall bearers were Clarence Coles, Martin Zerby, Robert Keesee, Otha Landess, Gus Bramlett and Clarence Demuth.
Obituary. Annie Laurie Hollis, daughter of David P. and Sarah M. Hollis, was born January 30, 1871, at Nebo, Ill., and there she grew to young womanhood.
She was united in marriage on August 7, 1887, with Robert M. Cooper of that city. To this union seven children were born. In 1905 they came to Oklahoma, settling in the Lookout community. Soon afterwards they came to Coldwater, where they made their home until Mr. Cooper's death on July 20, 1918. Mrs. Cooper, with her children, continued to make this city her home.
She accepted Christ as her Savior in March, 1902, and became a member of the Christian church.
She passed away at Bentley, Kans., July 5, 1947, at the age of 76 years, 5 months and 5 days.
She leaves to mourn her death her four children: David Vern Cooper and Florine Robbins of this city, George Rexford Cooper of Hollywood, Calif., and Mary Beeley of Bentley, Kans.; one brother, Virgil Hollis, of Slater, Mo., sixteen grandchildren and four great-grandchilren.
Three children preceded her in death - Lottie May, Robert Asa, and Herbert Ross.
Mrs. Cooper lived a Christian life, always trying to be of service to her family, her friends, and her community in which she lived.
She was a kind and loving wife and mother and was ever thoughtful of others. For a number of years she was librarian at the City Library and there widened her circle of friends. The sorrowing relatives have the sincere sympathy of all.

Mrs. R. M. Cooper, her son, Asa, and daughters, Mrs. Fred Robbins and Mrs. Harbaugh Beeley, also Mr. Beeley, motored to Wichita on Sunday, March 13, and talked with Mrs. Cooper's son, George Cooper, and his wife, who live in Hollywood, Calif. George, who is a licensed short wave radio operator has a short wave station in his house. His station's call letters are W6PKK.
By previous arrangement, George contacted Station W9CBN at the home of Paul Marks in Wichita at 2;30 p.m. on the above date. For some time a complete conversation was carried on between George and his relatives, but stormy weather caused some interference. The stations are on the 10 meter band. Mr. and Mrs. Vern Cooper were unable to make the trip to Wichita for the broadcast.
George is still employed as a sound technician by the Columbia Motion Picture Corporation.
