Coldwater and Protection people were shocked this week to hear of the untimely death of Miss Florence Irene Cosby, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Foy Cosby of Kiowa.

She was found dead in bed early Monday morning, October 10. The Barber county coroner stated that her death, due to a heart attack, seemed to have occurred soon after she retired Sunday night.

Funeral services were held in the Kiowa Methodist church at 1:30 Tuesday afternoon and burial was in the Protection cemetery at 4 o'clock that afternoon. Among those from Coldwater who went to Protection to attend the funeral were Mrs. C. A. Whelpley, Mrs. George Thompson, Jackie Lou Martin and Evelyn Conely.

At the time of her death Florence was 18 years, 8 months and 8 days of age. She was born in Protection, Kans., January 31, and passed away October 9, 1949.

The sorrowing relatives have the sincere sympathy of all.
