Nescatunga Enterprise, July 24, 1886.

Receipe for making Dan Davis lemon pudding

Take six lemons, pear and slice, put them in a camper's kettle and sprinkle with salt, pepper and a liberal supply of burnt buffalo chips; add one quart of slough water (the more wiggle tails and tadpoles it contains the better;) stir in enough flour to make it the consistency of paste; add the lemon rinds and enough hair to make the pudding hang together in good style; boil two hours serve hot on pie pans and eat with rusty tea spoons. The principle feature of the pudding is in its lasting qualities, one pudding will last for a round trip of two weeks duration.
