Mildred Justine "Mid" Edmonston, 77, died May 17, 1997, at Comanche County Hospital in Coldwater.She was born Sept. 17, 1919, at Oak Grove, Wis., to Harry Cornelius and Eva Lyma Clark Coers.
She graduated from Juneau High School in Juneau, Wis., in 1937. On May 12, 1945, she married Milo Edmonston at Los Angeles. He died Oct. 28, 1990.
A Protection resident since 1946, moving from Los Angeles, she was a homemaker.
She belonged to the First Christian Church, Order of the Eastern Star No. 364, the Ladies Missionary Group, Protection Cemetery Board and the Quilters' Club, all at Protection.
Survivors include: two daughters, Joan Ellen Long of Mountain Center, Calif., and Gail Elise Baker of Protection; a brother, Charles Coers of San Gabriel, Calif.; a sister, Velma Lawrence of Shelbyville, Ind. and two grandchildren, Erin Baker and Lane Baker, both of Protection.
Private family burial was May 20, 1997, in the Protection Cemetery, followed by a memorial service at the church with Rev. Barry Walker presiding.
Memorials may be sent to the Protection Park Project, to the church, or to the Protection Beautification Fund.
