Funeral services for Mrs. Olive Susan Edmonston were held Monday, November 22, 1971 at 2 p.m. at the Christian Church at Protection. Mrs. Edmonston died Thursday, November 18, 1971 at the Personal Care Home in Ashland.Services were officiated by Luster Stokes. Mrs. Daisy Maris played the organ and Mrs. Doris Ann Leeper and Mrs. Pat Sanders sang "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Someday We Will Understand."
Pallbearers were Wayne Harvey, Raymond Edmonston, Glenn Pfeiffer, Wayne Woolfolk, Jim Williams, and Travis Baker.
Interment was in the Protection Cemetery.
Obituary Ollie Edmonston departed this life Thursday evening, November 18, 1971, at the Ashland Personal Care Home.
Olive Susan was born in Perry County, near the city of Hemlock, Ohio, on August 7, 1882, to Camm and Mary Ellen Emmel Sanders.
The family moved to Marion County, Kansas when Ollie was a young girl, and resided there until her marriage to Jesse J. Edmonston on September 21, 1904 at the home of her parents near Peabody, Kansas.
Ollie and Jessie established their home in Protection shortly after their marriage, and resided there, except for a short time in Berthoud, Colorado until their deaths. To this union was born four children: Lois Spangler of Peabody; Marie Williams of Ashland; and Atlee and Milo of Protection.
Ollie was a devoted worker in the Protection Christian Church, having been a member since November 12, 1919.
She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star; Rebekah; and Royal Neighbors Lodges; Twin Hills EHU; American Legion Auxiliary and Thimble Club.
Ollie is survived by her four children, nine grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. One sister remaining of the eleven brothers and sisters, Mrs. Leota Wehry of Peabody.
She will be missed by her friends and is an irreplaceable loss to her family.
