Fred A. Ferrin of Coldwater, Kansas and Fera B. Humphrey of Wagoner, Oklahoma were married yesterday at 5 o'clock by Dr. A. M. Brodie of the first Presbyterian church. Mr. Ferrin has been connected with the Allerdice Mercantile Company for the past six years. Miss Humphrey is the youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L. _. Humphrey of Wagner, Oklahoma and is a very attractive young girl. After a short trip Mr. and Mrs. Ferrin will be at home to their friends in Wilmore, Kansas. --- Wichita Eagle, October 10, 1915.The above item in the Eagle announced the marriage of one of Comanche co.'s prominent young men. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Ferrin of our city. Fred ia a young man of splendid habits who has numerous friends throughout the county that extend congratulations and best wishes to him and his bride.
Mr. and Mrs. Ferrin will make their home in Wilmore having secured the O. P. Snare home on north main street as their residence. Mr. Ferrin will be with the Richardson Mercantile Company. We extend a cordial welcome to these young people as citizens of our community.
The Wilmore News, July 26, 1917. Mrs. M. L. Thompson Killed
"Mrs. M. L. Thompson, formerly of this city, was killed by lightning at her home near Amsterdam, Mo., Monday night while in the yard cleaning a chicken.
She leaves her husband and four children, two of whom are twins. The Thompsons are well known here. E. C. Thompson, who has a real estate office in the Palace Block, is a brother of Mrs. Thompson. He has gone to Amsterdam. Burial will be there." -- Wichita Beacon, July 25.
The above item tells briefly the story of the death of a sister of Mrs. Fred Ferrin of Wilmore. Mrs. Ferrin received the sad news by telegram last Monday and left at once for her sisters home near Amsterdam, Mo., going by the way of Greensburg. Mrs. Ferrin has the sympathy of her many Wilmore friends in this very sad bereavement.
The Wilmore News, August 23, 1917. Mrs. Fred Ferrin's mother, Mrs. L. G. Humphrey of Clarmore, Okla., and her sister, Mrs. E. J. Matthewson of Seattle, Wash., arrived here Wednesday for a visit.
