Mrs. Heber C. Frazier, aged 39 years, 9 months and 3 days, died at her home four miles west and one mile north of Ashland at 3:15 a.m. on last Monday, November 12, 1923, after a brief illness which started with an attack of the flu, ending with pneumonia. Her condition was not thought to be serious, and only a short time before her death she appeared to be somewhat more cheerful than usual and conversed with those about her, but evidently her heart became involved and the end came quite suddenly and unexpectedly. With her at the time of her death were her husband and children, her brother-in-law, E. E. Frazier, and her sister, Miss Emma Seyfrit, also a trained nurse. The body was brought to Coldwater on Tuesday, and on Wednesday forenoon funeral services were conducted from the Christian church, Rev. C. M. Martin of the Christian church in Protection being in charge. Burial was in Crown Hill cemetery. There was a large attendance of the neighbors and friends of the deceased and a large number of beautiful floral offerings. The Royal Neighbor lodge of this city, of which Mrs. Frazier was a charter member attended in a body and they furnished the pall bearers.
Margaretta Ablena Seyfrit, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Seyfrit, was born in Macoupin-co. Ill., on February 9, 1884. She came with he parents to Comanche-co. when she was a mere child, and until about four years ago, continued to make her home in this county. On February 22, 1903, she was united in marriage with Heber C. Frazier. The family lived in the county until the year 1919, when they moved to Clark-co. Mrs. Frazier had a large circle of friends in this county and in Clark-co. As a wife and mother she was ever faithful, giving her love and devotion in full measure for her family and those with whom she was associated. Her example of ____ devotion and of service will long be remembered and will remain as an inspiration to others. About 15 years ago Mrs. Frazier publicly acknowledged her faith in Christ as her Savior, and united with the Christian church of this city. Her devotion to the church and to her Christ never lessened and she died the triumphant death of a real christian. One of her characteristics was that she seemed always to think of the welfare of others, rather than of herself.
Mrs. Frazier is survived by her husband, three sons and one daughter, also by her parents, two brothers, Louis and Valentine Seyfrit, and three sisters, Misses Frona and Emma Seyfrit, and Mrs. Chas. F. Foree, all of this county. Her four children are: Allan, aged 19; Carlyle, aged 17; Ruth aged 15, and Charles, aged 9. One son, Paul, died in infancy. The bereaved relatives have the sincere sympathy of all.
CARD OF THANKS. In life there is no time when one appreciates sympathy and loving kindness quite so much as in time of sickness and sorrow. To those who have been so loyal and true in every way during this time, our hearts go out in loving gratitude and appreciation.
