FUNERAL SERVICES FOR J. T. GILES HELD IN WICHITA

Former Resident of Protection Community
Passes at His Home in Wichita Friday Morning

J. T. Giles, 82, old time resident of Comanche County and well known in Protection, passed away at his home in Wichita, Friday morning. Funeral services for Mr. Giles, were held Saturday afternoon at 4:30 p.m. at the Gill Mortuary. Interment was in the Old Mission Cemetery.

Mr. Giles who would have been 83 years of age in about two weeks, was well known in Protection and community, having lived here for many years before going to Wichita to make his home. He formerly lived on the farm now owned by Ray Butts.

He is survived by one son, W. T. Giles, sheriff of Comanche County; four daughters, Mrs. Charles Bonham, Wichita; Mrs. Chester Gage, Boston, Mass.; Mrs. Owen Tunis, Garden City, and Mrs. Herschel Outland of Wichita; and several grandchildren, among whom are Miss Marjorie Giles and Warren Giles of Coldwater; Ray and Forrest Giles, and Miss Marjorie, Ora and Bud Bonham, all of Protection.

Mr. Giles was preceded in death by his wife and one daughter, Mrs. M. A. Bonham.
