The Protection Post, September 10, 1918.

DIED.

A very sudden and sad death occurred last Sunday evening in the neighborhood south of town.

E. J. Good and wife had gone to Will Giles, Jr., to spend the day and while there their child was taken suddenly very ill and died in a few minutes. The child had been a sufferer for the last two or three years with a growth in her throat which had been removed once or twice, but not entirely so. The child died sitting in Will Giles' lap and very easily. It is a sad blow to the grief stricken parents and they have the sympathy of the entire community.

OBITUARY.

Irene Good, daughter of E. J. and Josie Good, was born in St. Louis, Mo., and died in Protection, Kans., Sept. 6, aged 3 years and 6 months. While the little life was brief, the patience with which she bore her affliction, the sweetness of the child's naturally bright disposition, has woven chords of love and affection around the hearts of her parents and all who knew her.

"No more the patter of little feet, the touch of little hands, but waxen cold, the earth enfold, the form of baby dear."

The little body was laid to rest in the Protection cemetery after an appropriate service at the M. E. church by Rev. Crumly. A large concourse of friends and relatives accompanied the remains to the cemetery.

Card of Thanks.

The undersigned desire to herein publicly express their gratitude for the many courtesies and kindness shown them, and the services rendered to them during the recent death of their little daughter and niece, Irene.

E. J. Good.
Mrs. E. J. Good.
