Dr. Lee Roy Griffith, 61, dentist, Protection, died Monday, April 17, 1967, at his home in Protection after a short illness. He was born February 7, 1906, at Stafford, Kans., and came to Protection in 1908. He married Mrs. Pansy Miller January 1, 1966 at Protection.Dr. Griffith was a member of the Protection Lions Club, former city council member, and a graduate of Kansas City Western School of Dentistry.
Survivors include the widow, Pansy, and a sister, Mrs. Lucille Chambers, of Coldwater.
Funeral services were held at the Christian church, Protection, Kans., on Wednesday, April 19, 1967, at 2 p.m. with Rev. Fred Gresham in charge of the services. Charles Petty and Mrs. Doris Ann Leeper sang "Ivory Palaces" and "How Great Thou Art" accompanied by Mrs. Daisy Maris, organist. Pallbearers were Dr. L. G. Glenn, Merle Long, Harold Sangster, Wade Harmon, Lowell Randall and Harris Powell. Honorary pallbearers were Chester Harden, Lane Myers, Edgar Deck, Charles Jones, Walter Maris, and Claude Rowland. Interment was in Protection Cemetery, Protection, Kans.
