A delicate flower
So youthfully fair
Was taken to heaven
To blossom there. So think we not
That he is gone
But just transplanted
And living on.The day is brief
The sun is low
Whose yonder setting
Bids us go.To live in the garden
And there to be
With our loved ones
Beyond lives blue sea. Then mother, brother
And sisters dear
For your fair flower
Have no fearTho' we miss you in the garden
Tommy we will miss you so
We know 'T was God,
We let you go.
"BY THE RIVER"
The river is dark
But the lights abide
O Soul
On the beautiful other side
On the other side among the blest
On the beautiful shore
Where the bells ring-rest.
Rest for the weary over the tide
On the shore that shines from the other side
We've been waiting long, by the river side
Weary of all earths toils and strife's
Waiting to cross the heavenly shore
To meet with the loved who have gone before
And the savior calls me across the tide
To the beautiful shore on the other side
It is only a hand clasp of a sad good night
A step in the darkness
Then joy and light
A fading away of earths dull skies
In the light of heaven that never dies
Rest for the weary over the tide
On the beautiful shore on the other side.
