Myrtle Marie Haynes, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. U. G. Haynes was born in Barber County, Kansas, August 10, 1922, and departed this life at Coldwater, Kansas, April 17, 1932, following a serious accident which occurred at her home near Wilmore, Kansas, 12 days before. While swinging, the limb of a tree on which the swing was fastened broke, striking her and puncturing her ear drum and fracturing her skull in three places and breaking her collar bone. She was immediately rushed to a hospital in Coldwater where skilled surgeons were employed, and every medical assistance known to the profession was administered, but to no avail.

It was on the morning of the 17th, that God saw fit to lift her out of her suffering, and carry her into His eternal rest, where there is no suffering, pain or accidents. Her body was taken to Coats, Kan., on Monday the 18th, where funeral services were held from the Baptist Church. Burial was in the I. O. O. F. cemetery.

She leaves to mourn her passing her mother and father, one brother, three sisters, a grandmother, together with other relatives and friends.

Pall bearers were Audrey Hackney, Reva Lee Looker, Maxine Heide, Powell Heide, James Hough and Junior Wright.

The singers were: Mrs. C. T. Eubank, Mrs. C. H. Stotler, Haskel Eubank, Walter Harding, with Mrs. Haskel Eubank at the piano. Rev. Cal T. Lawson was in charge of the funeral services.
