Delbert Lee Herd

Delbert Lee Herd, 58, died on Friday, November 2, 2007 at Pioneer Lodge, Coldwater, Kansas. Born on January 5, 1949 at Ashland, Kansas, he was the son of Lloyd and Katherine (Zickefoose) Herd.

On October 26, 1967, he married Ann Beatty Shetler at Wichita, Kansas. They were later divorced.

He was a farmer, mechanic and worked as the head of the Coldwater City Maintenance Department.

He was a lifetime resident of Coldwater, Kansas. He attended Coldwater Grade School and graduated from Coldwater High School in 1967. He attended Wichita Automotive School. He was a member of N.R.A., was a Hunter Safety Instructor and was involved in drag racing in the 1970�s.

He is survived by two sons, Roger Herd of Medicine Lodge and Gary Herd and his wife Cheryl of Medicine Lodge; one brother Don Herd of Tulsa, OK; one sister, Janet Cicero and husband Joe of Tucson, Arizona and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant brother and an infant sister.

A graveside service was held on Monday, November 5, 2007 at Crown Hill Cemetery in Coldwater. Rev. Sue Talbot presided.
