Frank L. Hitchcock, who had been a resident of Coldwater 41 years, passed away last Friday in a nursing home in Hutchinson. He had been in failing health since the death of his wife in 1949.

Funeral services were held in the Methodist church in this city last Saturday afternoon and were in charge of the pastor, Rev. Donald Kessler. Gene Gates sang "Beyond the Sunset" and "It's No Secret," accompanied by Mrs. Hobart McMillen.

Burial was in Crown Hill cemetery by the side of his wife, who passed away in May, 1949. The pallbearers were Asa Hoofer, Donald Darnell, Oral Darnell, Bert Hawkins, W. C. LaFever and Victor Gates.

Mr. Hitchcock was born in Kingman county, Kansas, April 8, 1868, and passed away in Hutchinson May 30, 1951, at the age of 83 years, 1 month and 22 days.

He came to Comanche county in 19109 (sic) and spent the remainder of his life here. He was united in marriage with Mrs. M. J. Elliott April 13, 1915. He is survived by three stepchildren, B. F. Elliott of Hutchinson, Kans., W. M. Elliott of Coldwater, Kans., and Sarah LaFever of Wellington, Kans., who with several step-grandchildren and many friends mourn his departure.
