Ward Butcher, Comanche county chairman for the Dodge City Cowboy Capital and Museum Fund, is in receipt of a check for $20.00 from a Comanche county pioneer mother. Mrs. Mildred E. Holland, for many years a resident of Crestone, Colo.

On the check is written the notation, "Contribution in honor of the loved State of Kansas."

Mrs. Holland, wife of the late W. T. Holland, pioneer real estate man and abstractor, is the former Mildred Ellsworth, and taught school during the early days of Comanche county in the Lexington community northwest of Protection. Their twins, who died in infancy, are buried 'neath the Kansas grassy sod of the prairie in Comanche county and though she and Mr. Holland moved to Colorado nearly 30 years, her heart has always been in the Sunflower State.

Mr. and Mrs. Holland are former residents of Coldwater and of Protection and Mr. Holland served as County Superintendent of this county during the pioneer days.

Mrs. Holland's fine contribution is being forwarded to Dodge City and is greatly appreciated.
