Obituary: Albert Boyd Holler

Albert Boyd Holler, 87, passed away Friday, May 17, 2002, at Pratt Regional Medical Center in Pratt, Kansas. Born March 29, 1915, at Yelton, Oklahoma, the son of Boyd and Nellie (Funk) Holler, he was a Warehouse Examiner for the State of Kansas Grain Department.

He was nearly a lifetime resident of Protection, Kansas, living in Topeka, Kansas for ten years, prior to moving back to Protection in 1982. He attended Protection Grade School and graduated from Protection High School in 1936. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Protection, Kansas, where he was a deacon for over fifty years. He was also a Youth Group Sponsor and a Sunday School Teacher and Superintendent.

On August 30, 1937, he married Marjorie DeMoss at Coldwater, Kansas. She survives.

Other Survivors include two sons: Arlyn Holler and his wife Shirley of Haysville, Kansas, and Gerald Holler and his wife Mary of Protection, Kansas; two daughters: Donna James and her husband Donald of Haysville, Kansas, and Arlis Kraus and her husband Bill of Phoenix, Arizona; 10 grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; and seven step great-grandchildren.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, his step-father, Glen Hosier; one grandson; Richard James; one brother; Edward Holler and one sister; Iona Holler.

Funeral service is to be at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 22, 2002, at the First Baptist Church in Protection, Kansas, with Pastor Ready Dirrim Presiding.

Burial will follow the funeral services at the Protection Cemetery, Protection, Kansas.

Memorials may be sent to the First Baptist Church or the Protection Township Library in care of Hatfield-Pruss Funeral Home, P. O. 412, Coldwater, Kansas 67029.
