Asa Francis Hoofer, son of Frank and Etta Hoofer, was born on July 16, 1895, and passed away February 6, 1972, at the age of 76 years, 6 months, and 21 days. The Hoofer family moved to Coldwater in 1907. He worked as a farmer and rancher for most of his life. On August 26, 1926, he was united in marriage with Zoe Weimert in Coldwater. They lived on the farm until 1948 when they moved to their present home in town. To this union were born two son, William M. and Ralph L. and one daughter, Bonita Faye.Asa was a member of the American Legion. He worked as a farm hand and was well known as a handy man and for his help in yard work. He was always ready to lend a helping hand and saw little things to do that others would pass by.
He is survived by his wife, Zoe, sons, Bill and Ralph, of the home, daughter and son-in-law, Hubert and Bonita Swafford of Twin Falls, Idaho, three grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Hazel Ray, Green Forest, Ark., and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother, Roy, and two sisters, Jessie Behler and Gladys Sickler. He is also survived by other relatives and an untold number of friends.
Asa was a good provider and loving father. His cherry smile and helping hand will be greatly missed by all.
