Delmar Horner Promoted to Technician 4th Grade

The following letter brings the news of a promotion for Delmar Horner who is now on maneuvers in the California desert:

Mrs. Violet M. Horner,
Protection, Kans.

Dear Mrs. Horner:

It is with great pleasure that I note the recent promotion of your husband, Delmar M. Horner, to the grade of Technician 4th Grade. This is the second advancement in grade he has received since his assignment to the Eleventh Armored Division.

His progress is a tangible demonstration of his fitness to lead his fellow Americans into the great battles which lie ahead. His attention to duty and his willingness to accept responsibility reflect the inspired fighting spirit of this nation of free men.

Sincerely yours,
Edward H. Brooks,
Major General, U. S. A., Commanding.
