DEATH OF GILBERT HOUGH

The funeral services for Gilbert Hough were conducted from the Methodist Church Sunday afternoon with Rev. V. O. Horner in charge. Evah and Ruby Ellis, Esther Hubbard and Ernestine Hubbard sang three songs, "Safe in the Arms of Jesus," "Beckoning Hands" and "Jewels."

Six of Gilberts schoolmates acted as pallbearers.

There were several beautiful floral offerings given as an expression of sympathy.

Burial was made in the Wilmore cemetery.

The sympathy of the entire community goes out to the bereaved family.

Obituary.

Gilbert Clarkson Hough, eldest child of Charles and Mary Hough, was born at Dodge City, Kansas, February 25, 1924, and departed this life, February 15, at the Holcomb Hospital at Coldwater, Kansas, following a week's illness of pneumonia. He was 10 years, 11 months and 15 days old at the time of his death.

Gilbert came with his parents to Comanche County in March, 1928. They lived in Shimer township and he attended Shimer school until the past year. This year he was a fifth grader in the Wilmore school.

He leaves to mourn his loss, his parents, three brothers, Ernest, Jerry, and Clarence and two sisters, Rosalie and Ruby, besides other relatives and a host of friends.

Gilbert was a bright, lovable child whose greatest happiness was a new book. He will be sadly missed by his loved ones and schoolmates.
