The Western Star, January 6, 1922.

AGED LADY DIES.

Mrs. Lizzie Houk, aged nearly 86 years, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Lina Fisher, in Kansas City on Thursday, December 22, 1921, after a brief illness. She was a sister of John R. Morton, who was an early day settler and well known citizen in this county and had visited here a number of times. She spent several months during the summer and early fall visiting with her nephews, Warren P. and John R. Morton, and her niece, Mrs. Albert Thornhill, and while here endeared herself to all who met her. She had for many years been a faithful and consistent member of the Baptist church, and was a fine type of the patient, kind, considerate and Christian like old lady.
