Funeral was Sunday afternoon at Wilmore for William Earl Hubbard. He died on Friday, August 27, 1993, at his home in Wilmore. He lived to the age of 74 years.He was born on February 23, 1919, at Corpus Christi, Texas. His parents were Everett and Maude Heck Hubbard. He graduated from Alvin, Texas, High School in 1938.
He was a longtime resident of the Wilmore area. Mr. Hubbard was a retired farmer and a custodian for the Wilmore and Coldwater school systems.
During World War II, he was a member of the United States Navy. He was a member of the Wilmore Federated Church; Masonic Lodge No. 295; past district deputy grand master and worshipful master of the Masonic Lodge; Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the American Legion - all of Coldwater.
On July 5, 1945, at Wilmore he married Rose Marshall. She preceded him in death on September 8, 1988.
His survivors include son David Hubbard of Coldwater; daughter Debra Broyles of Greensburg and Susan Gates of Coldwater; brothers Ron Hubbard of Wichita and Wayne Hubbard of Herington; a sister, Esther Jordan of Howard, and seven grandchildren.
Funeral was at 4 p.m. Sunday at the Wilmore Federated Church, with the Reverends Joe Tschirhart and Kelvin Heitmann presiding. Burial was in the Wilmore cemetery.
Hatfield-Prusa Funeral Home of Coldwater was in charge of arrangements. Memorials to William Earl Hubbard may be sent to the donor's choice, in care of the funeral home.
