George Hunter Sent to Penitentiary for Stealing Cattle

George Hunter, who has been incarcerated in the county bastille since the 4th of last August, and who was tried and sentenced at the November term of court to six years in the penitentiary for cattle stealing, was taken to Lansing yesterday morning by Sheriff Taylor. He will stand in living judgment at this penal institution to testify how uncomfortably dangerous it is to steal cattle in Comanche county, and where no leniency is ever shown the bovine thief by the courts. Hunter's sentence is the longest of any ever sent from this county.
