Mrs. Celia Kime passed away last Thursday night at the home of her nephew, Fay Smith and family after all illness of only a few days. Mrs. Kime was taken to the Smith home to be cared for.Funeral services were conducted from the Christian church Sunday afternoon with Rev. Palmer, pastor of the Christian church of Coldwater in charge.
A male quartet composed of John Gould, Ray Bigbee, Royce and Valtos Richardson furnished the music with Mrs. Nick Baker at the piano. Burial was made in Wilmore cemetery with Fleener of Greensburg in charge. The following obituary was furnished.
Celia Ann Smith was born in Martinsburg, Mo., Sept. 17, 1885 and departed hit life on Nov. 19, 1936 at the age of 81 years, 2 months and 2 days. She died at the home of her nephew near Wilmore. She was the daughter of Keren and Isaac Smith.
She spent the first part of her life in and near Wellsville, Mo. About thirty-five years ago she came to Kansas, living part of the time with her brother Stephen Smith near Wilmore, Kan.
She was united in marriage to George Homer Kime on April 12, 1906 at Meade, Kan. They made their home at Plains, Kans., for four years then moved to Kiowa Co. to their present home but they remained here only a little over a year. From there they moved to Pittsburg, Kan., where they lived four years. They then returned to Kiowa, Co. to their previous home and were living there at the time of her death.
Mrs. Kime was a woman of unusually good health and her only sickness was that, which lasted just 12 days before her death.
She was known as Aunt Celia by all her friends and relatives and was a person of a quiet retiring nature. Aunt Celia's eyesight and hearing had never failed and she had such a wonderful memory. She never forgot anything she read. While she lay on her sick bed she read the newspaper without the use of glasses.
She was so patient and sweet during her illness and will be missed greatly by her husband and relatives.
She leaves to mourn her death her husband and one brother, Frank Smith of Apache, Okla. and many other relatives and friends.
I always think of His divine compassion
Not one will parish from His loving hands
Knowing our weakness and the strength of passion
He pities us Because He understands.CARD OF THANKS
