David Francis Kluttz, a brother of Mrs. Pete Cole and Mrs. Albert Oller of Coldwater and of Mrs. Wm. Booth of Wilmore, passed away in the Cole home in this city last Sunday.The funeral was held in the Assembly of God in Coldwater Tuesday afternoon, November 4, at 2:30 p.m. and were in charge of the pastor of the Prairie Vale Friends church, Rev. Dale Field.
Mrs. Martha Zerby and Mrs. Ferrel Guizlo sang "Will the circle Be Unbroken?" and "Rock of Ages," accompanied by Mrs. Mary Ann Purcell. The pallbearers were Herman and Lloyd Cole, Claude Bramlett, L. Atteberry, Lester Brown and Fred Booth. Interment was in the Wilmore cemetery.

David Francis Kluttz, son of Moses Alexander and Mary Elizabeth Kluttz, was born near Salsberry, North Carolina, December 11, 1888, and departed this life in the home of his sister, Mrs. P. M. Cole, in Coldwater at the age of 83 years, 10 months and 2 days.
Early in life he left North Carolina with his parents and three sisters to make their home near Springfield, Mo. He grew to manhood near Pleasant Hope, Mo. He was united with the Baptist church in Pleasant Hope when a boy.
When 18 years of age he went to Mississippi, where he made life work on the Mississippi River.
He leaves to mourn his passing, a step-daughter of Greenville, Miss., four sisters, Mrs. Wm. Booth, Wilmore; Mrs. P. M. Cole, Coldwater, Mrs. Albert Oller, Coldwater and Mrs. Tom Preston, Patagonia, Ariz., and a host of relatives and friends.
Preceding him in death are his mother, father and wife, Ida, in 1931, three sisters, Mary Patterson, Lidy Jones, Rose Martin, all of Springfield, Mo., and one half brother, James Lewis Klutz of Wilmore.
He was a devoted husband and brother. His cheerful disposition and keen sense of humor won for him a large circle of friends.
Note: The above obituary spelled his surname "Klutz"; however, according it Wilmore Cemetery records, the correct spelling is "Kluttz".
