The Knipe-Troika Case

The Supreme Court has handed down its decision in the case of Alex Knipe Vs. Paul Troika and this decision affirms the judgment of the district court.

This case was brought for the specific performance of a contract for exchange of land between the litigants.

The deal in question was the one in which Mr. Troika was exchanging his land northwest of town for some land owned by Mr. Knipe in Gray county. These parties entered into an agreement for the exchange and then afterwards there was some dispute as to the details of the exchange and Troila declared the deal off. Knipe then sued in the district court and got a judgment requiring that the deal be completed. The case was appealed to the supreme court and is now settled by affirmation of the lower court decision. The case has been in court for about two years.

Mr. Troika is now preparing to move to Gray county soon and will hold a public sale at his place on Thursday, July 9.
