The Western Star, August 13, 1887.

OVER A GIRL

A cutting affray occurred at the ball at Comanche City last Monday night in which George Kuhn received several wounds in the back and one in the arm which will probably result fatally. It seems that an old grudge existed between George Kuhn and James Chitty, which was fanned into life by the attention which Mr. Chitty paid to Mr. Kuhn's lady escort and admirer and which was to all outside appearances mutual. We understand Kuhn provoked the fight and lighting into Chitty hit him several blows with his fist, when Chitty drew his knife and inflicted the wounds. Chitty then fled and although the deputy sheriff was soon afterwards in pursuit no arrest has yet been made.
