Henry Lohrding Buried Last Friday

Had Been Resident of Comanche County Since 1911

Funeral services were held in the Coldwater Methodist church at 2:30 last Friday afternoon for Henry Lohrding, who passed away suddenly Wednesday of last week. They were in charge of Reverend Major W. Parker, of Caldwell assisted by Rev. Donald A. Kessler, pastor of the church here.

Mrs. W. W. Lohrentz sang "In the Garden" and a ladies' quartet composed of Mrs. L. W. McCulla, Phyllis McCulla, Eva Mae Wolf and Mrs. Vernon Huck sang "God Will Take Care of You" and "Sometime We'll Understand," with George Wolf organist.

The Coldwater Masonic lodge, of which Mr. Lohrding had been a faithful member for many years, had charge of the services at Crown Hill cemetery. The pallbearers were Lynn and Jim Haas, Glenn McCulla, Ernest Bird, Vernon Huck and Jim Wolf.

The honorary pallbearers were six neighbors - G. G. Haas, L. W. McCulla, Clyde Heft, Ernest Miller, Ben Wolf and Jay Overocker.

Obituary.

Fred Henry Lohrding, son of Henry Fred and Bertha Marie Lohrding, was born November 22, 1878, in Stafford county, Kansas, and departed this life December 8, 1948, in Coldwater, at the age of 70 years and 16 days.

He grew to manhood in Stafford county and on October 14, 1903, he was united in marriage with Miss Bertha Olive Jeffries. To this union were born three sons, Raymond J., Harry Edward and Fred Henry, all of Comanche county.

Mr. Lohrding and his family moved to Ford county in 1905, returning to Stafford county in 1909, then moving to Comanche county in April 1911, where he since made his home. About three years ago he moved to this city. His wife preceded him in death in September, 1942.

Mr. Lohrding joined the Methodist church in early childhood and from that time was a loyal church worker and earnest Christian. He was a faithful husband and father. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge and of the Eastern Star.

He is survived by his three sons, Raymond, Harry and Fred, all of Coldwater; 11 grandchildren and three sisters, Mrs. Ivan Dellinger of Dodge City, Kans., Mrs. Roy Lytle of the home and Mrs. Claude Thompson of Las Vegas, Nevada, and by many other relatives and friends. The sorrowing relatives have the sincere sympathy of all.
