Mrs. Emma C. Marley passed away in Coldwater on May 1, 1974. Funeral services were held at the Hatfield Funeral Home in Coldwater, Kans., on Saturday, May 4, 1974 at 10:30 a.m. Rev. Dave Robinson had charge of the services and Mrs. Fayette Blount was the organist.Pallbearers were John McNeely, Brian McNeely, Michael McNeely, Kurt Standley, Larry Hatfield, and Stanley Marley.
Interment was in Crown Hill Cemetery, Coldwater, Kans.
Obituary. Emma C. Hase Marley, daughter of Dan C. Hase and Anna Hase, was born in Comanche county, Kansas on February 16, 1886 at the family home, three miles north and 1/2 mile west of Coldwater. She departed this life May 1, 1974 at the age of 88 years, 2 months, 14 days.
She attended grade school north of Coldwater and also attended Coldwater high school.
Emma worked for Lawrence Bratcher, who was Registrar of Deeds, following her school term in 1907.
On February 12, 1908 she was married to Harvey R. Marley at Coldwater. Her husband passed away April 23, 1954. To this union were born three children: Madeline McCulla of Coldwater, Clyde T. Marley of Colcord, Okla., and Cecil I. Marley of Coldwater.
She spent most of her years on the farm and moved to her home in Coldwater following the passing of her husband. She was a member of the Methodist church and the Better Homes EHU.
In addition to her three children, she leaves behind seven grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. One brother, Fred C. Hase of Booneville, Ark., and a sister, Clara Thompson of Coldwater. Also left are a number of other relatives and friends.
