Mrs. Chas. Moore, died at her home in Augusta, Kansas, Wednesday, September 4, following an illness of several months.Mrs. Moore is a daughter of Mrs. John Taylor of Protection and a sister of the Messrs. W. R. and Chas. F. Taylor.
Until some ten years ago, they made their home in Protection for years and the family were among the early residents of Comanche county.
Mr. and Mrs. Moore and their sons left Protection and established their home at Augusta and have since made that city their home.
Mrs. Moore has been ill for many months with cancer and while her condition of late has been critical her immediate passing was unexpected.
During her residence in Protection, Mrs. Moore was prominent in the lodge and community circles and was a splendid lady and fine friend and neighbor.
She leaves her husband, Chas. W. Moore of Augusta, and three sons, Eugene of Ashland, and Kirby and John of California and Washington, and her two brothers and aged mother of Protection, besides a number of grandchildren and a host of friends to mourn her passing. One son, Arlo Moore, preceded her in death, as he was a World War casualty, as did her father, the late John Taylor, pioneer of Comanche county, who died a little over a year ago.
The body is enroute to Protection and funeral arrangements are awaiting its arrival.
