Matilda Josephine Moores

Matilda Josephine Moores, 75, died at The Pioneer Lodge at 6:15 p.m. Saturday, October 20, 1979.

Born the youngest daughter of S.G. Moores and Constantina Stoker Moores on August 31, 1904. She lived a pioneer life on the family ranch until ill health made it impossible for her to reside there. She loved the out of doors, gardens, and plants. In order to enjoy nature she took many long walks as long as her health permitted.

Preceding her in death were her parents, five sisters: Katherine May Aldridge, Ethel Dean Hinkle, Frances Ann Coverdale, Luella Lucy Chandler, and Dolly Madison Moores and one brother, George Washington Moores. She leaves to mourn her passing her youngest brother, Victor Robert Moores of the ranch home, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

Obituary

Matilda Moores was born on August 31, 1904 and passed away on October 20, 1979. Services were held at the Hatfield-Prusa Chapel in Coldwater, Kans., Tuesday, October 23, 1979 at 10:30 a.m. Gib Clark was the officiating minister. Organist Mrs. Hazel McMurray accompanied Gib Clark as he sang "Old Rugged Cross" and "What A Friend".

Pallbearers were Ralph Einsel, Marvin Maris, Charles Uhl, Michael Uhl, and Charles Sanders.

Interment was in Crown Hill Cemetery near Coldwater, Kans.
