The Western Star, December 1, 1905

DIED.

Mrs. W. B. Newman died at her home five miles southwest of Coldwater, Kans., at 9 p.m. on Saturday, November 24, 1905, after an illness of several months. Her health had been impaired for the past five or six years, but only during the last six months had her condition been critical. Her suffering at the last was intense, but how kindly and patiently she bore it all. She was ready to go and prayed for deliverance. She loved and was loved for "to know her was to love her." Gone from us, but loved by us.

Frances Troutman was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, on May 2, 1849. On November 27, 1871, she was married to W. B. Newman. To this union one child was given - Harry J. Newman, now of Geary, Okla. Mr. and Mrs. Newman came to Coldwater in 1884 and settled six miles southwest of Coldwater. That had been their home ever since.

The funeral services were conducted at the family home at 2 p.m. on Sunday by Rev. W. L. Roberts of the Coldwater Presbyterian church. He gave a message of cheer and comfort. The remains were laid to rest in the Coldwater cemetery. To bereaved relatives have the sincere sympathy of all. Let us remember that, "The Master doeth all things well."
