The Western Star having just received a job press and a lot of job type from Kansas City, we are prepared to do all kinds of job work, such as letter heads, note heads, statements, cards, dodges, envelopes, bill heads, handbills, posters, or anything in the job printing line, which may be called for at reasonable rates.

A little 8 year old son of Mr. Peg living 12 miles west of this place, was bitten by a rattle snake last week. The boy was a mile from home at the time he was bitten, but went to a neighbor's house and was taken home, where an application of soda was put on the wound. He is now up and around.

In the case of Carr vs, Courtney for trespass, tried before Squire King last Monday, near Reeder, judgment was rendered in favor of the plaintiff for $25 and costs.

J. L. Boyd brought to town Wednesday from his farm Southwest of town, the finest lot of farm products we have seen this year. He had beans, onions, radishes, peas, beets, &c., as well as some fine specimens of corn and oats.

Tonight, a grand ball will be given by the young men of the city, at Adams hall. Everybody is cordially invited. All those who enjoy the shaking of the light fantastic toe, should by all means attend. Good music will be furnished by the Coldwater String Band.

In the trial of State vs. Henry Story last Saturday, charged with assault with intent to kill Lewis R. Miller, after a long tedious examination, the defendant was acquitted.

It is currently reported that Bob White of Reeder, will soon return from his visit to Ky., and at the same time transplant one of the blue grass flowers to Kansas soil and climate.
